Serengeti National Park

Located in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is known for its vast landscapes, iconic baobab trees, and impressive elephant herds. Covering approximately 2,850 square kilometers, it’s Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park and one of the most scenic, offering a less-crowded safari experience compared to nearby Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

The park is named after the Tarangire River, which is a vital water source that attracts animals from across the region, especially during the dry season (June to October). Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant population. During the dry season, hundreds of elephants gather along the river, creating spectacular sights for visitors. The park boasts one of the highest elephant concentrations in Tanzania, with family groups and even large bull herds roaming the plains.
